Why we do church in a bar
Scripture clearly reveals Jesus didn’t hang out with the “Religious elites” or in established churches. Instead choosing to be with sinners and hated tax collectors. Women, the poor and unclean, oppressors and racial enemies. He flipped the script and said in Mark 2:17: Jesus, overhearing, shot back, “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? I’m here inviting the sin-sick, not the spiritually fit.”
I learned a bar; any bar is a spiritually target rich environment. Sitting down long enough to have a beer with someone gives me an opportunity to get to know them in Christ. Jesus is just as much at home in a bar as He is in a church.
